Mission: Shadow Dance

Kali focused on the cliffs. There had to be caves somewhere. She remembered there being caves, she wasn't sure if it was the same location, but she had a clear memory of cliffs like these near a river and caves she explored while her mother and some of her servants were doing some sort of business. She couldn't remember what it was. It didn't matter now. What mattered was finding a place where she could hide -- if she were lucky, or where she could have a tactical advantage. It would be brief, but if they came into the dark cave from the sunlight, she would get the first strike. It gave her a better chance of survival than continuing to run.

She was using the water, that was a good thing if he were not not so close; he brought up the dart gun and sent a well placed dart into her rump, the dart was enough of a sedative to drop man twice her size. The gole was to take her down fast and quiet.

Kali had almost reached the cliffs when she felt a sharp pain in her backside. She put her hand back to feel for what it was and pulled away a dart. She swore softly as she felt the drug begin to take effect and collapsed to the ground.

Orvack saw the dart hit her and let out a much deeper, but low, growl. His claws dug more into the bark of the tree he was leaning on. He had enough and saw all he needed to see. Moving quickly, and deftly, through the brush before leaping out and pouncing on the closest attacker. The pounce didn't kill the man, but it was enough to knock the wind out of him while Orvack leaped off him and collided with another. "Trespassers! Murderers!" Orvack telepathically yelled, even though none of them would be able to hear his words. They were more so done out of anger than trying to communicate.

As the third brought the dart gun to his lips and shot another tranquilizer, which glided through that air in Orvacks direction. The young Qunari Chief reacted quickly and positioned the second attacker in the way of the dart to protect himself. "You move too slowly, Jenefran!" He telepathically shouted as the Jenefran he was holding was hit. kill!" He continued as he pulled back his hand before throwing his knife into the third's chest. Orvack let out another growl before spinning around and throwing the second Jenefran over his shoulder and into the thirds, colliding them together and knocking them onto the ground.

Orvack clenched his fists as he approached the knocked down Jenefrans and grabbed one by the collar, using the hand that was covered by his gold gauntlet, slowly raising him off the ground. "For every one of my kin that falls by your filthy Jenefran hands, five of your kin shall by our skilled hands. You monsters shall pay for ever drop of blood. For every fallen brother. For ever fallen sister. For every young-ling." He mentally shouted as he reached down and removed the blade from the others chest. Orvack gripped the blade tightly, giving the weak Jenefran a angry look before placing the blade to his throat. "Any sentient being who willingly slaughters younglings, children who aren't even strong enough to protect themselves, shall receive no mercy from me." Orvack said telepathically before impaling the blade into the attackers chest, piercing his heart before twisting the blade and pulling it out, allowing him to bleed out onto his fallen friend.

The Young Qunari chief soon stood up and focused his attention to the first Jenefran he attacked, who was slowly gaining consciousness. Orvack let out a growl as he tightly gripped the small blade in his hands and contemplated how to deal with the last attacker. Should he kill him? Should he let him go to report back to his King? Either idea seemed good, but both would only bring more chaos to his people. It would bring more struggle to his kin and, as much as he wanted to unleash his full fury onto them all, he knew nothing would ever be resolved. Just as he took his first step to approach the last Jenefran, he heard a faint noise behind him. Orvack turned around quickly, blade and arm extended in a defensive position, before his eyes focused on the woman they were chasing.

"You're still awake? You're body must be putting up quite a fight against your peoples tranquilizer, but from the looks of it, the drug seems to be winning. Isn't it?" He whispered softly in his mind as he raised a brow, observing her. Orvack approached her slowly, finding her eyes focused on him even though they seemed to struggle to stay opened.

"You're...Qunari," she whispered, trying to understand what was going on. He was very angry. She knew this, but didn't know how she knew it. "Please..." She looked into his eyes. "Help..." He grew fuzzy and she closed her eyes, slumping again to the ground.

Orvack looked at her, tilting his head slightly, before hearing a sound behind him. He heard the noise of the dart gun going off just seconds before turning his body, and leaning back, allowing the dart to fly passed him and into a tree. He then drew back his hand and threw the knife into the last attackers throat. Orvack than looked back over to the unconscious Jenefran woman and walked over to her.

Slowly, he crouched down and lifted her up into a sitting position. Gently, Orvack ran his hand through her hair, brushing it out of her face, before taking a second to give her a quick glance. His eyes moved from her face, to her toes, and back again, stopping at her face. He gently raised one of her eyes to check and see if the drug had finally taken its effect before letting out a soft sigh. "Why would they be chasing you, Princess? What secrets do you have to hide? I should leave you here for the beasts, allow you to finally fend for yourself, but your eyes tell me that you're people would send more attackers to finish what they could not. It would seem, you are much safer in the hands of my people than your own. Bringing you home would probably be a great risk, but it is a risk I am willing to take." He paused for a moment, allowing a sigh to escape his lips before looking back to her and running his hand through her hair one last time. "You're about to see through the eyes of this wars victims. Welcome to the war, Princess. Welcome to our struggle." Orvack said before standing up, lifting the Princess over his shoulder and walked over to the last Jenefran he killed to retrieve his blade. He paused for a moment and looked around before making his way back to his village. They were about to have one more plate added to their table. A plate that would go to one of there enemies. No. A plate that would belong to a woman who now shared their enemy.
