Mission:
Deadly Diplomacy
Location: Junior Officer's Quarters
ON:
The man struggled across the bed to reach his commbadge. As quickly as the woman came, she was gone but not before making one final mark. The assailant had severed the achilles tendons of both the man and woman, neither could walk. The child while remaining unharmed was left to mourn over not only her injured parents but her recently decapitated bear.
"Pearson to Security! Intruder Alert!" He said cringing in pain as his ankles throbbed.
Sam had been expecting something, but she wasn't sure what. When the alarm sounded, she quickly discovered the location and made her way quickly to the Pearson's quarters.
Sirel looked to one of the security officers and tapped on the console, setting of the intruder alert alarm. She grabbed her phaser and checked the setting before heading out the door like a bat out of hell.
"Baby, come to mommy. Come on baby please." The woman called out to her child.
The child did not move.
Sam rang the door chime and waited for a moment.
Kela arrived with several security guards at her heels and looked over to York. "Whats the situation, Captain?"
"Not sure yet. The intruder alert was called by the family inside," Sam said.
"Alright, stand aside." Kela said in a firm tone as she looked to each of the security officers and nodded her head. They took a position by the door and waited with phasers at the ready. "Computer. Security Override: Echo Echo Kelo Alpha Charlie."
The computer toned in response as the door opened quickly. The security team rushed into clear the room with Kela behind them with her phaser drawn.
Sam quickly walked into the room and assessed the situation. "Lieutenant Newmark to the Pearson quarters. He'll be here shortly," she assured the parents.
Then she walked over to the child who was staring at her teddy bear and spoke softly. "What happened?"
"The mean lady made me hurt Mister Bear." The child whimpered.
Sam picked the little girl up and gave her a hug. "Fortunately, the doctor can do wonders with teddy bears. And if he can't, I know a very nice seamstress who can put Mister Bear back together again. Fortunately, you and your parents are in much better shape."
"Quarters cleared, Ma'am." One of the security officers said as they returned to the main room.
Kela looked over to him and nodded in response. She than walked over to the two people on the ground, their achilles tendons clearly severed and looked at them. "This can't be the same person." Kela whispered softly, looking around.
"But why did she want me to hurt Mister Bear? He didn't do anything to her." The girl asked York looking up at her expectantly.
"I don't know, sweetheart," Sam admitted. "She's not a nice lady, is she?" Sam nodded to the security officer. "Lieutenant Sirel is going to find out who she is and make sure she doesn't hurt any more people or bears."
"Thank you missus York. Do you think we can get someone to fix mommy and daddy's boo boos? The mean lady hurt them too." The child said looking at her parents whom were comforting each other in the corner.
"The doctor is on his way. He can take care of them," Sam assured her.
Kela placed her hand on top of the child's head and gave her a smile. "I promise, I am going to get who did this."
"Thank you miss security chief. Daddy says you're a very good boss." the child replied with a smile.
The doors parted as Newmark came through the door with a nurse in tow, his medical bag seemed to be slightly behind him as he dashed into the room. "WHere is the Emergency?" Newmark asked and saw the little girl and her bear. "I-I think Ensign Spartacus has an expert in toy repair and surgery?" He faked a smile to assure the girl. "I think in a painless fashion?"
"Over here." Pearson called out cringing in pain as he continued to comfort his wife while checking to ensure she was awake and had not gone into shock.
"I'll take care of Mr. Bear," Sam said quietly to Newmark. She looked down at the little girl. "You and I will get Mr. Bear taken care of and Doctor Newmark can take care of your parents. Maybe we can even find something special for all of you while we're at it."
"I'd like that." the girl said happily before looking over to her parents. She furled her brows as she looked at them. "I just wish Sergeant Beckinsale and Commander Vance had not been so mean to the bad lady. Then she wouldn't have hurt my mommy and daddy."
"Did the bad lady tell you that?" Sam asked. "Did she say anything else?"
"She said you have to be careful who you make friends with. She also said friends can get you hurt. Was my mommy and daddy Commander Vance's friend? Is that why they got hurt?" the girl said in an upset tone.
"No, dear," Sam assured her -- although it was and odd sort of assurance. "They aren't your parents friends. She hurt them to be mean. But Ensign Sirel will make sure your parents are safe."
Sam looked from the girl to Kela. "Meet me in my Ready Room in one hour. I want a full report." After taking care of the girl and Mr. Bear, she needed to talk to Intel. This woman had to be stopped.
"We'll be back shortly," Sam assured the parents and headed out the door with her new friends.
