Lieutenant Roberta Andrews hurried along the corridor inside the Calypso. heading for the nearest turbo lift. She was, as the old expression goes 'fit to be tied.' Her kids, Oliver and Olivia, had somehow gone on a 'jaunt' through the ship, and in the process had found several Com Badges, which turned out to have belonged to the missing crewmen. Finding them was one thing, 'activating' them and calling to the Bridge, well, *that* was crossing the line. They would have to be punsihed, but Roberta was lothe to punish them as they needed to be. Alll they had been through, first on their home planet, then on the Ares..
Her thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice.."Stretch..I mean, Lieutenant Andrews. Heading for the turbo lift as well?" Roberta turned to the voice, it was her old Academy friend, Lieutenant Shannon O'Brian. Roberta smiled.."Shanny! Haven't seen you since you checked in. What's up?"
O'Brian brought forth a banged up right hand. "Smashed this in Engineering, the 'Man in Charge' ordered me to Sick Bay to set it right, then get back to Engineerg. What are you up to?"
"I have to report to my cabin, seems my 'little ones' have done some work with various com badges that had belonged to the missing crewmen."
"Some work?" Asked Shannon.
Roberta shook her head. Seems they 'activated' a few of them, and then 'beeped' the Bridge."
Shannon shook her head. "Wow, kids these days." She then turned back to Roberta. "So, what's up with you?"
Roberta brought forth her left hand. "Look." She replied with a smile.
Shannon's eyes grew big. "Wow...*that* is some rock? When and who?"
Roberta's smile seemed to dissapear. "It's Korok Lukk. He asked me at the reception a while back, and I said Yes!' "
Shannon's responce was not what Roberta had expected. "Ohh." Was all she said,and shook her head.
Roberta blinked a few times and then asked. "Shannon, what's the matter?"
What came next hit Roberta like a sledge hammer. Shannon looked up at her and replied, "Look, you *know* you could have done better. He's just some Klingon half breed..."
Roberta's eyes seemed to blaze with fury, and she quickly grabbed Shannon by her shoulders, and slammed her against a turbo lift wall.
OOC: Roberta is 6'2"; Shannon is 5'2", so Shannon is 'hanging up there..'
Roberta stared at Shannon, and her words came out in hurt and anger. "Listen..you..Korok Lukk is *my mate,* you understand? We are going to be married..and he will be the *Father* to our children..those we have now and whom ever may come later. And if you don't like 'half breeds' now, you'd better be ready for more later! "
Roberta let Shannon sag to the floor. She turned to the turbo lift door. "This is my stop." The door opened and Roberta turned back to Shannon. "What happened to you Shannon,
what made you change?" Roberta shook her head as she left the trubolift.
Shannon got off the floor and dusted herself off. A look of anger came across her face, followed by one of indefferance. "I didn't change, Bobbi. *You* did. And for the worse. " Shannon then sighed. "Lover boy is gone, Bobbi. And maybe soon so will you? Who knows? Just watch your back. All bets are off now."
The turbo lift stopped at the deck for Sick Bay and Shannon put a smile on her face and went on her way.
