Amarylis walked over to Colonel Raine. "Colonel you stay with Sam and you don't leave her. She leaves here alive, I promise."
Damon leveled his eyes to meet the Marine's and said nothing. He already knew Sam was going to leave alive; it was just a matter of how many people needed to die to make that happen.
Sam turned to Damon. "We leave together," she sent telepathically. There was no way she would leave him behind. She didn't before, and she wouldn't now.
Amarylis approached Nero's platform with a cocky swagger. "Hey you fat tub of targ crap. Is that honestly the BEST you have? I mean c'mon you could have sent a ferengi and a tribble in and still they would have won. You wanna give the crowd something to cheer about. How about you drop that gun, grow a set and come on down here and fight me man to woman.
C'mon sugar, I dare ya." she said beckoning Nero with her hand.
Damon absently took Samantha's hand and gave it a quick squeeze before moving off.
"How 'bout I sweeten the pot?" Damon said as he moved into step with Amarylis. "We are Federation Marines. Give us something to work with, you sack of shit."
He tilted his head to the Sergeant. "Semper Fi, Marine."
Amarylis looked wide eyed at the Colonel for a moment worried about Sam. If they....no, they wouldn't fail. She smiled back at Colonel Raine. "Do or die Sir."
She turned back to Nero. "Well? I'm waiting sweetheart. I can feel myself aging here."
Kara began to inch towards the guards, ready to start a rumble if it came right down to it.
Damon's eyes remained trained on Nero. It wasn't the right time to start a fight, but it was time to let their captor know that they weren't going to lay down and die. They wouldn't give him the satisfaction of grovelling for their lives.
Nero just laughed. "You think your words are any sort of threat to me?" he mocked.
Nero looked at Sam for a long moment, causing the hairs on the back of her neck to stand at attention. There was an important piece of the puzzle they were missing. A very important piece.
Nero looked her over like she was a piece of meat, then turned his attention to Damon, giving him the same scrutiny. He'd heard much of these two. So far, however, he'd seen nothing to come close to their reputation.
Then, at last, he turned his attention to Amarylis and Teena. "Do you know why you are here? It is not by chance, I assure you. No, you are here because of them" He nodded to Sam and Damon. "You are being punished for their crimes. And for their crimes you will die."
Damon was perplexed by his comments. He had never seen this man before. Damon's eyes finally broke as he looked back to Samantha. He had hoped there would be some glimmer of recognition in her eyes so that they might know who or what this was about.
Amarylis scowled at Nero curling her lip. "Get down here, I'm not asking again."
"And what will you do? Scowl again? Threaten me?" Then Nero's voice turned cold and his expression darkened. "Or do you want me to kill someone else for your impertinence?"
"Those are mighty big words coming from someone who doesn't even have the spine to come down a fight a girl. However sugar, if ya do plan on comin' down here I'll tell ya that I don't plan on just threaten you. Nah I'm a girl of my word and my word is I plan to disembowel you and hang ya from them there rafters above us, then everyone can see ya better. Entertainin' isn't it honey?" Amarylis quipped mockingly at Nero.
"If you really wanna try killin' someone, how a bouts you come give me a try?"
Nero just laughed.
Korok had listened to the conversation and he still had one question so he stepped forward "If they are to fight and perhaps even die because of their ships Captain. Then why am I here?" Korok growled in a very loud defiant tone that demanded an answer.
"You were on the ship," Nero said. "You are part of the crew. Therefore, you will die."
"No. Today is not a good day for ME to die." Korok growled again loudly "and because you said SO! I am now part of the crew, before, no. I agree with the lady," Korok gestured to Amarylis "come fight us baktag?" Korok then spat at Nero.
"You do not understand," Nero hissed. "You are my prisoners. You make no demands. You follow my orders. And since you refuse to follow my rules..." He nodded to the man on his right. "Another of you dies."
A large Orion pulled out his weapon and shot a security officer.
"Great so we get to stand around and stare at your mug all day and mince words?" Korok growled and narrowed his eyes. The officer's death had been a needless death.
"ENOUGH!" Damon roared. He stared pointedly at Korok and Sergeant Beckinsale, letting them know to back off. He wasn't about to risk the next shot being aimed at his wife. It was clear that bating the slave master would only serve in a harder hand coming down on them, one they could fight back against. He felt bad for the security officer, but he didn't have time to mourn their death.
"What do you mean that this is our faults?" He asked regarding Samantha and himself." Perhaps if they knew what this was about, he thought, they could start planning their next move.
Korok glowered at the man who had yelled and growled, "I am not under your command so quit ordering me around. I don't even belong here. I arrived on her ship," Korok gestured at York "with my employer who happens to run the lounge on the ship and now you want me to shut up and back off? I want to go back and do my job. I'm a cook, not a warrior."
Amarylis raised her arms and stepped back. "Alright, you've made your point. No one has anything to gain through senseless killing. No one will be entertained."
Damon quietly turned to Korok. "Unless you plan on offering yourself to be the next person killed without a fighting chance, then I kindly ask that you quietly stand down. I won't risk anymore lives for no advantage." He left a look to note that this wasn't up for debate.
"I said before that today is not a good day for me to die." Korok replied quietly "I also believe that it really isn't your choice whose lives are risked as we appear to be his whim." Korok nodded at Nero. "I want answers just as much as you do." but it appeared to Korok that they probably would not receive any.
"I tire of your impudence. You will stay in your cell, away from the other prisoners, until you show the proper respect."
He turned to his guards. "Take them back to their cell."
